Why is pickleball so popular? To fully understand why pickleball is so popular, you need to first understand what pickleball is. The sport originated in 1965 by Joel Pritchard as an indoor variant of badminton with wiffle balls and plastic paddles. Then it rapidly grew and spread around the United States.

Many people today are discovering the fun and excitement of playing pickleball. This simple, easy-to-learn sport is becoming the fastest growing sport in America and provides hours of fun for people of all ages.

In fact, pickleball is being played at schools, senior centers, tennis courts, community centers, recreation departments and parks all over the world.

Pickleball is a fun sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis. It's played indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net. Players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball (similar to a wiffle ball) over the net. The rules are simple and easy to learn allowing people of all ages and athletic abilities to participate in this exciting game.

Unlike other sports that require expensive equipment and special skills, pickleball can be inexpensively enjoyed by anyone with minimal equipment requirements (a paddle and ball) which makes it especially appealing to children and families.

The game is so popular because it's easy to learn and play. Kids love it because they can play on courts that are smaller than tennis courts, enabling them to reach balls that would otherwise be out of reach
